Each year in preparation for the holiday season Resource Genesee coordinates an effort to collect gifts for those in need in Genesee County. We work with dozens of non-profit service groups to compile lists of items needed for children, families, the elderly - and even for pets in local shelters!
The Flint Journal partners with us and publishes the Holiday Wish List for several Sundays in late November and early December. Members of the community generously offer to purchase these gifts or donate money to cover the costs. Each week the list is updated to reflect the gifts still needed.
Resource Genesee coordinates closely with area agencies to avoid duplicate requests for help from individuals or families. This helps ensure that the generosity of our friends and partners is safeguarded and as many people as possible receive help.

Through the years people in our community have been helped with donations of appliances, furniture, finances and more.
